Man hospitalized after being shot in Southwest Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man is in critical condition after he was shot three times in Southwest Fresno just before 8 p.m. Saturday evening.

Officials say one or two suspects exchanged words with the victim before shooting at him eight times.

They then ran down the roaAttucks and Belgravia Avenues. Officers say shot-spotter technology alerted them immediately to the shooting.

Lt. Carl McKnight of the Fresno Police Department said, "It pretty much dropped a dot... about 10 feet from the victim's house. That's pretty accurate."

Officials believe this shooting may be gang-related and say they have had multiple contacts with the victim.

The suspects took off on foot and were wearing dark clothing.
