Fresno Arts Council giving Central Valley inmates freedom of expression
Thanks to the California Art Council the Fresno Arts Council is able to hire local artists to offer workshops.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- It's a showcase of literary and visual art produced by students enrolled in the Arts in Corrections programs inside state prisons of the Central Valley.

Thanks to the California Art Council the Fresno Arts Council is able to hire local artists to offer workshops such as choir, graphic design, poetry, mural painting, Latin drumming, mariachi and many more.

Art Beyond Bars is one of the exhibits for February's Arthop were original poems and abstract pieces will be showcased. Some of the teachers from the programs will be out there showing off their students work.

You can catch Art Beyond bars starting this Thursday, the first of February at the Fresno Arts Council. There will also be a reception starting a 5:00 p.m. featuring presentations from the art instructors.
