Good Sports: Fig Garden Golf Clinic
In just it's second year of existence, the program aims to reach young girls from as early as 5-years-old to middle schoolers.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The sweet sounds of golf fill the air at the Fig Garden Golf Club in Fresno.

Golf instructor Joella Paniccia said, "I love this program. I love getting any type of junior golfer involved, boy or girl. But I concentrate more with the girls because they aren't involved with the sport."

That's where the Fig Garden all girls Golf Clinic comes in.

"If you were to go to Arizona, Scottsdale, Florida, San Diego, Palm Springs, LA, every course has a big program like this with 20-50 kids but here, my program we are just getting up to 10," Paniccia said.

In just its second year of existence, the program aims to reach young girls from as early as 5-years-old to middle schoolers.

Golfer, Jillian Nichols said, "It's really fun and you get to be with your friends and you learn something new every time you play."

Fun and friendship, just another benefit of taking a swing at the game of golf.
