30-car pileup closes eastbound Interstate 44 in Missouri

MISSOURI (KFSN) -- A 30-car pileup on a highway in Missouri left at least one person dead and several others injured.

A witness to the accident captured video showing a pick-up truck involved in the accident wedged between two semi trucks.

Both directions of the highway were closed after three separate accidents merged together, creating the pile-up.

The roadways re-opened at 8 o'clock local time Sunday night after being closed all day Sunday following the crash.

Officials are still investigating the accident but highway patrol officers said the roads were slick after a snowstorm Sunday afternoon.
