Several lanes are closed on Highway 99 after a pedestrian was hit and killed by several vehicles while crossing the road in Southwest Fresno.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- An investigation is underway after a man was hit and killed on Highway 99 just after four Friday morning. It happened on the northbound lanes between Jensen Avenue and the Highway 41 interchange in Southwest Fresno.

The Highway Patrol identifies the victim only as a man in his 30's. They said he was in the second lane for an unknown reason when he was hit by several vehicles.

Over the past three hours travelers experienced several delays while Highway Patrol Officers blocked lanes for the investigation and cleanup.
