Man killed in Fresno hit and run crash
A man is dead after he was found on the side of a road in West Central Fresno.

FESNO, Calif. -- Fresno's sixth pedestrian fatality of the year was hit by a car while walking home from a neighborhood store. Police identified the type of vehicle because the right side rear view mirror was knocked off in the impact.

The car hit 68-year-old Ramon Reyes. Reyes lived about half a mile from the intersection of McKinley and Brawley.

Known for helping his neighbors he was walking home from this convenience store shortly after 8 p.m. Sunday night. His friend and neighbor, Carlos Rodriguez believes he was walking on the dirt shoulder when hit.

Police are looking for the car and driver. Whatever the reason Reyes was hit, the driver faces felony charges for leaving the scene.

Police say anyone with information about the 1997 silver BMW 5 Series suspected in the incident is urged to contact Fresno police.
