One dead after SUV and big rig head-on in Tulare County

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is investigating a deadly crash on Avenue 352 and 4th Avenue in Tulare County southwest of Traver.

Authorities say a man was on his way to work in his SUV when he allowed his car to drift off the road, over-corrected, and crashed head-on into a semi-truck. The driver of the SUV died at the scene.

A power pole was hit during the crash and PG&E is working to replace the pole.

CHP says there is a road closure and the public is advised to avoid the area.
