Law enforcement officers honor Reedley officer killed 8 years ago in shootout

REEDLEY, Calif. (KFSN) -- It's been eight years since Fresno County Sheriff's Deputy Joel Wahlenmaier and Reedley Police Officer Javier Bejar died in a shootout in Minkler.

Monday morning, dozens of law enforcement officers with the Reedley Police Department will take part in honoring Bejar's memory and sacrifice in a flag lowering ceremony. It will stay at half-mast until Thursday.

Bejar and Wahlenmaier were killed in a shootout with an arson suspect February 25th, 2010.
