Man arrested for hitting woman in the face with a stick in Visalia

VISALIA, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man is in custody for hitting a woman in the face with a stick. It happened in Visalia in the area of Dinuba and Vine Avenues.

Police said 52-year-old John Ortega was found and arrested after threatening another person with the stick. He faces charges for assault with a deadly weapon and brandishing.

The victim was treated at a local hospital and released.
