Merced shooting sends woman to hospital

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Authorities in the North Valley are investigating a shooting that left a woman injured. It happened around 9 p.m. Monday on R Street near 3rd Street in Merced.

Merced police say two men walked up to the 21-year-old victim and shot her in the upper torso. The woman was flown to a hospital in Modesto. She was last listed in stable condition.

Police say the two suspects ran away. They were last seen wearing gray hooded sweaters.
