Fresno County student wins 2015 California State Spelling Bee

A Fresno County student was named the top speller in the state on Saturday.

Ten-year-old Ananya Vinay won the 2015 California State Spelling Bee in Sacramento. The fourth grader beat out dozens of other students through 18 rounds of intense competition for the title. Her winning word was "stroganoff."

For her spelling skills, Ananya walked away with a medal, a championship trophy and a new iPad.
