CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) -- There's an uplifting update on a hearing impaired Valley teen, whose Cochlear implant was stolen from her car.

Tuesday night, 18-year-old Bailey Matney's family set up a GoFundMe account to raise money for a new hearing device. By early Wednesday afternoon, they had reached their goal of $10,000.

Bailey's mom says they've also received an outpouring of support from family, friends, and students and teachers at Buchanan High School. One local woman who says she's being treated for cancer even offered the family the full amount of a new Cochlear device.

"Within hours, it just blew, everything has blown up, between Facebook, between Twitter, between Instagram, between the GoFundMe account," said Anna Matney.

"I've really been impacted, this changes my life and people are really supporting and helping me," Bailey Matney said.

In the meantime, Bailey's audiologist arranged for a loaner device, so she can have one in time for her high school graduation.
