Missing elderly man from Clovis found after crash

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Clovis police say Charles "Chuck" Delateur, 76, has been found after being involved in a minor car accident. They say he drove to the area of Kamm and Jameson avenues, where he walked to a Cal Fire station. Delateur was taken to Clovis Community Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

Police say they issued a Silver Alert after Delateur was last seen around 11:30 a.m. Monday at the 7-Eleven on Clovis and Barstow avenues. His wife told police he went to get a newspaper and never came home. Police say he suffers from a heart condition, is diabetic and has shown early signs of dementia.

Delateur was last seen wearing a green polo shirt, tan pants and an Oregon Ducks hat and was driving a 2010 Toyota Tundra truck with California license plate number 8Z09227. He is described as a white male adult, 5'06" and 150 lbs. He is bald, has brown eyes, is clean shaven and wears prescription glasses.

Delateur had his cellphone with him, but he was not answering. Police say the last cell tower to receive a signal from his phone was about 5 miles west of Caruthers.
