FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Hours after Team USA's win at the World Cup, these young athletes were still energized.

"It was awesome. I was just screaming and jumping up and down," said Sammy Tristan, who plays for the California Odyssey U-13 Red.

She was inspired by Team USA and how the athletes pushed themselves to the limit and redefined history.

"Carli Lloyd is also a midfielder, so I enjoyed watching her score a hat trick. She was the first woman to score a hat trick in the World Cup," said Tristan.

The women's game was fast moving, scoring four goals in the first 16 minutes.

"It was obviously a great moment for our country but also for U.S. Women's soccer," said J.J. Wozniak, coaching director for the California Odyssey Soccer Club.

Fans of all ages across the Valley also spent time playing soccer Monday. At Summer Fun Day Camp, kids enjoyed soccer drills with the game still on their minds.

"One heck of a battle. Lloyd, Heath and Holiday just killed it on the goals," said Jacob Lopez, a soccer player.

The camp's girl empowerment class also felt some extra girl power.

At the Print District in Northwest Fresno, a banner with the Team USA was the perfect spot for these patriotic kids. Employees printed the large sign, and it's attracted some attention.

"We're huge fans of the game, and we thought it'd be a fun way to show our support for our community to show our support for the women's national team," said Jon Kline with the Print District.

It's support many female athletes are happy to see.

"It felt amazing. I was excited for them, and hopefully one day that will be me and some of my teammates there too," said Bella Taglione, who plays for the California Odyssey U-13 Red.

For Valley soccer fans, the Women's World Cup win is one they'll remember.
