FRESNO, Calif. -- Cell phone photos allegedly revealed the way he was treating his dog.

Refugio Alvarez was charged with a felony, after his dog was found hanging in the bed of his truck at a local Pet Smart. The images were uploaded to social media, which caught the attention of detectives. A veterinarian examined the dog and found it was severely anemic and covered in thousands of ticks.
