Brush fire burns near Interstate 5 in Merced County

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Crews are making progress on a massive brush fire burning in the North Valley. The fire is burning near McCabe Road and Interstate 5 in Merced County, but it's not impacting traffic.

So far, 1,333 acres have burned, with the fire 65 percent contained. Cal Fire officials are looking into whether a lightning strike sparked the fire over the weekend.
