Alleged drunk driver arrested after pedestrian struck in Central Fresno
Fresno police say a drunk driver was booked into jail after he ran a red light and hit a young man in the crosswalk.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno police say a drunk driver was booked into jail after he ran a red light and hit a young man in the crosswalk. It happened on Dakota Avenue near Hughes Avenue in Central Fresno before 8 p.m. Sunday.

Officers say the 21-year-old victim was walking across the street, when the 23-year-old driver crashed into him. The pedestrian was taken to Community Regional Medical Center with a broken leg.

Authorities arrested the driver on felony DUI charges. His name has not been released.
