Apartment fire leaves two families without a home
Two families are without a home after their apartments caught fire in southeast Fresno.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Two families are without a home after their apartments caught fire in southeast Fresno Wednesday night.

Fire investigators say someone turned on the heater, smelled smoke, and called 911. The flames spread through the attic damaging two units, however, no one was hurt.

Firefighters contained the flames and salvaged all of the belongings.

The 10 people displaced are five adults and five children. The Red Cross is helping to find them a place to stay.

This fire serves as a good reminder-- as temperatures drop and many people turn on their heaters. If you smell smoke or think something is wrong, call 911.
