Attempted robbery at Winton liquor store

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- An armed man attempted to rob a Winton liquor store Saturday evening.

Surveillance video shows a masked man making his way around the store counter and attempting to attack the owner. The owner shoved the man back and the suspect quickly fled out the store.

The suspect is described to be a Caucasian male or light-skinned Hispanic in his early twenties. The suspect fled in a white SUV occupied by approximately four other people.

The store owner suffered a cut to the head in the attack but is otherwise okay, he said.

A police report was filed with the Merced County Sheriff's office about the incident.
