Boy nearly hit by school bus while riding bike

FRESNO, Calif. -- Several students were late to school today after their bus nearly hit a child in Northwest Fresno.

Fresno Police say a boy on a bicycle entered the street at Figarden Drive and Santa Fe against a red light. He was in the last lane as a school bus approached.

The driver didn't have time to stop, but the boy jumped off the bike before he hit the vehicle. The bike was crushed by the bus's front tire.

No one was injured, and another bus was called out to take the students on the bus to school.
