Boy Scouts help restore Fresno State campus

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno State is slowly recovering from the drought thanks to hundreds of volunteers who helped beautify the campus Saturday.

Boy Scouts, their families and other volunteers spent hours Saturday morning replacing dead trees, restoring shrub roses and cleaning up the rest of campus.

The project was organized by a Clovis North High School student who's trying to become an Eagle Scout.

One of the requirements for the promotion requires developing a service project.

Chris Scott says he selected Fresno State for his project because he hopes to attend the school in the future.
