Central Fresno apartment fire leaves woman dead

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Crews are investigating a suspicious death in Central Fresno.

Firefighters were called to an apartment fire around 3 a.m. near Hughes and Shields Avenues. They arrived quickly but were unable to access the room because the door was blocked.

A woman was inside but was badly burned by the time crews were able to reach her. She was rushed to the hospital where she later died.

There's still no word on how the fire started.
