Ceiling collapses inside church during Easter Sunday services

RAHWAY, N.J. -- Authorities say several people were injured when the ceiling of the Korean Union United Methodist Church in Rahway collapsed during an Easter Sunday service. 75 worshipers were inside the time.

The pastor's wife was reading from the Bible, and the Congregation was getting ready to worship, when the ceiling collapsed. right on the worshipers. A Spanish-speaking Congregation was getting ready for devotion when officials say a 30 x 30 section of the ceiling fell.

Thankfully no one was trapped, but one person was seriously injured; about a dozen others had minor injuries. The injured people reportedly were members of a separate congregation that rents out space at the church. None of the injuries were considered life-threatening.

It's not yet known what caused the collapse Sunday afternoon. Everyone was able to quickly exit the church.
