Clovis Police say the two suspects walked in through an unlocked door at a house near the corner of Robinwood and Renn around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Several family members and a building contractor were inside the home at the time. A young man in the house was shot and wounded during the incident.

Police Sgt. Jim Koch says police are working on getting more information about what happened and why. "At this time we don't know why this happened we don't have any information to lead us to investigative leads right now."

The victim, a man believed to be in his early 30s, was treated and released from a local hospital. A neighbor told Action News, the victim's mother said he had been shot in the leg.

Because of the shooting, nearby Clovis High School was briefly placed on lockdown.

Neighbor Holly Ferrin told Action News incidents like this are completely out of character for this neighborhood. "We've never had anything like this. This is quiet. Nothing ever happens here."

Several neighbors said the family has lived in the home for years, and have never caused any problems.

Clovis Police have not released descriptions of the suspects. They did say this incident does not appear to be related to another home invasion robbery which occurred near Alluvial and Willow last week.
