Coroner identifies man fatally shot at Northwest Fresno apartment complex

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Fresno County coroner has identified a man shot and killed at a Northwest Fresno apartment complex. Investigators say Ray Lopez, 35, died Thursday at the Stonegate Apartments at Blythe and Ashlan avenues.

A man who lives in one of the units told officers Lopez entered his apartment, sat down and started saying bizarre things. Police say the tenant then got his shotgun, and after some kind of exchange, shot Lopez in the torso.

Authorities are still investigating the shooting and are asking for help locating more of the victim's relatives.
