Dinuba police seek man accused of attempting to kidnap a girl

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A 13-year-old girl said she was walking by Dinuba High School, when a vehicle stopped and the male driver motioned for her to get inside. The teen told officers the man drove all the way to her home, and that's when she yelled at him to leave her alone. The vehicle then left the area.

The suspect's vehicle was described as an older model green SUV, possibly a Chevrolet Tahoe or Suburban. The suspect was described as a Hispanic man, in his mid to late 30s, with a medium build.

Police also investigated a claim made by a 12-year-old boy that he was kidnapped on Sunday and managed to escape. Investigators say his story was deemed untrue. They said witness statements and video evidence did not support his claim and he recanted his statement.
