DUI driver knocks live power lines into the roadway, authorities say

FRESNO, Calif. -- Fresno County authorities are investigating an overnight crash that turned into a dangerous situation involving electricity.

Investigators say a woman crashed into a power pole near Academy Avenue and Shields Avenue around 2 a.m. Wednesday. They say the power pole fell over, which pulled down another pole and left the live wires in the road.

Investigators say the woman was not hurt and was arrested for drunk driving. Her name has not been released.
