Former Firebaugh police officer found guilty of domestic violence

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A former Firebaugh police officer was found guilty on Friday of one misdemeanor count of domestic violence. Jose Ramos Guerrero resigned from the police department after he was arrested in February.

The officer's wife claims she was hit in the nose and knocked out when she tried to break up a fight. But she says it wasn't her husband that hit her. Friends, however, claim the woman lied because she was fighting with her husband.

Guerrero is scheduled to be sentenced in August.
