FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- More than a hundred people gathered near his home in Downtown Fresno. They lit candles, shared memories of 18-year-old Angel Franco and raised money to help pay for his funeral.

The CHP says Franco was riding with two others in a car near Highway 180 near Temperance when the driver over-corrected into an embankment. The 18-year-old was not wearing a seat belt and died in the crash.

Two of Franco's sisters say he was just like any other teenager.

"Very happy, goofy, cheesy smile. He loved to help everybody. He just wanted to do everything for us, it was never for just him, it was for us all the time," said Lupe Franco and Rosie Avila, sisters.

The driver and other passenger inside of the car when it crashed were treated for minor injuries. The Fresno County Sheriff's Office has not released their identities.
