FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Authorities say an apartment building caught fire at First and Bullard in northeast Fresno.
The fire broke out around 8:00 p.m. Friday. Two apartments were involved. One was a total loss and the other suffered smoke damage. Two people were inside at the time but managed to escape.
Due to the nature of the fire Firefighters called for a 2nd alarm. "Fires like this are challenging because the complex has a common attic. Once fire gets up into the attic it tends to run horizontally fairly quickly," said Battalion Chief Thomas Cope, Fresno Fire Department.
the fire unit arrived on scene of the 24-unit complex within six minutes.
No one was injured.
