FRIANT, Calif. (KFSN) -- Smoke and flames shot out of a parking garage at Table Mountain Casino, causing quite a sight for guests who took photos of the fire.

The casino is open and fully functional after the fire broke out around 6:30 a.m. Sunday. It happened in the parking garage off Millerton and Sky Harbour roads.

Cal Fire says four cars were destroyed by the garage fire. Action News viewers Maria Aranda and Brent Callaway took photos after the fire broke out on the third floor of the parking garage.

Cal Fire crews say the fire was very difficult to manage because of the confined space, and they were on scene for at least four hours. Investigators don't know what caused the fire, but at this time they don't believe anyone was there in the vicinity when the fire started in one of the cars. The fire quickly spread to a total of four cars, and firefighters confirm they are a total loss.

Table Mountain Casino officials tell Action News that once the fire was put out, they called in structural engineers as a precaution before opening up the garage to patrons.

Viewers who sent us pictures say the smoke was so intense they could smell it from inside the restaurant. We are told no one was injured, and besides charring on the side of the garage there seems to be no damage to the structure.

The Table Mountain legal counsel says the fire apparently started with one van that "may have been in disrepair." But investigators say it's too early to tell if that's the case, and they are continuing to determine what exactly caused this fire.
