Fresno copper wire theft suspect swings at officer, police say

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Around 3:20 a.m. Monday, security at Chukchansi Park called police to report a possible copper wire theft in the alley east of the stadium.

The guards told police that some of the lights in the alley were not working and a man was seen near some broken glass. When officers approached the man, they said he started to walk away -- then tried to punch one of the officers in the face.

The suspect, later identified as 25-year-old Joshua Lockhart of Fresno, was arrested and booked on several charges including assault on a peace officer and resisting arrest.
