FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A Fresno County woman is searching for two stolen statues and she's hoping surveillance video will help capture the thief.
Ondrea Marinez caught a thief on camera, "This video shows the man running up to my front porch," she added.
It's a 12 second video of a man stealing two statues. He lifts the big one first, then grabs the other, "It's a little man's body and a sombrero, he actually juggles three pieces and then runs back to his car."
Marinez captured the crime from 3 angles. The getaway car appears to be a white Prius and the man looks like he's wearing a button-up shirt with a name tag. An unusual thief, stealing unusual things, or so it seem.
Tony Botti, with the Fresno County Sheriff's Office said, "We do get these reports quite often, it's potted plants, it's benches, statues."
He says it's not thieves looking to make money. Typically, it's people taking things to add to their own yard.
"If it's not nailed down, somebody out there is apt to take it," Botti said.
In Marinez's yard, the statues were for good luck, pieces she collected years ago with her husband, "It's just something we bought together when we were first dating."
Both gone in seconds but she hopes the video will bring them back, "I know it's a long shot, but you never know, if people recognize him, at least give him a scolding," Marinez said.
