Fresno kickboxer aids families of SkyLife crash victims
Fresno's first female kickboxing studio stepped up Saturday to help families of the victims in last week's fatal helicopter crash in Kern County.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno's first female kickboxing studio stepped up to help families of the victims in last week's fatal helicopter crash in Kern County.

Fightgirl Fitness's Kickboxing held classes Saturday for free and open to the public while accepting donations.

Owner Rebecca Law's husband, California Highway Patrol officer Brian Law, was killed in 2014 in the line of duty. She said the community came together for her, and helped her cope with the difficult sacrifice families of first responders often deal with.

"I think it's because they go to work not knowing if they're coming back at the end of the day that makes their jobs difficult on their families, " Law said. "But it's one of the things they accept."

Memorial T-shirts were also sold for $20 during the event, and 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the victims' families.
