FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Community leaders shared stories of inspiration Sunday from Martin Luther King, Jr.

It happened at the California Veterans Home in southwest Fresno. A thematic exploration program was put together to focus on the life and times of the late civil rights leader.

Guests shared how his work's service to the people inspired them in their lives. "He continues to evoke greatness in all of us, far beyond what we think we can do individually especially coming together for an event like this," Fresno Unified School District Superintendent Michael Hanson said. "It evokes the spirit and the work we all do on behalf of the next generation, and to live up to the standards that those in that home fought so hard to attain."

The keynote speaker was Clovis Unified's superintendent, Dr. Janet Young.
