Man shot twice in the back in East Central Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Police need your help to find a suspect responsible for shooting a man two times in the back. Around 7:45 Tuesday night police got a call that a man had been shot and was down on the sidewalk near Chestnut and McKinley. So far, no witnesses have come forward and the victim said he didn't see anything either.

Sgt. Steven Jaquez with the Fresno Police Department said, "He was tending to some type of bicycle maintenance while on the sidewalk in front of the apartments. While doing so he stated that he heard a couple of pops and shortly thereafter realized that he'd been shot."

The person shot is a 34-year-old Fresno man. He is expected to survive.
