FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Two people are in police custody after a car chase and arrests in Fresno on Friday afternoon.
California Highway Patrol officers said the incident began when officers spotted a stolen car, then followed it to a home Fresno Street near Belmont Avenue in Central Fresno. That's where the first driver handed the car over to another suspect.
That man apparently realized they were being followed and sped off. The chase ended when the car was cornered by the officers at Maple and Floradora. Investigators said the crooks were able to steal the car because the owner left the keys in the vehicle.
The first driver was in the passenger seat of the car when officers finally caught up with the stolen vehicle. He was taken into custody as well.
