Garza Fire near Avenal grows to 5,000 acres, 5 percent contained
There are no structures threatened and no evacuation orders are in place.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A wildfire near Avenal along the Monterey County Line is continuing to grow. Officials say it has now charred 12,000 acres.

The Garza Fire is only 7 percent contained and is burning in brush and steep terrain.

At last report, no structures are threatened and no evacuations are in place at this time.
