Good Samaritan helps out victim of an armed robbery

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The victim of an armed robbery now has a happy story to tell after that terrifying crime.

Yuridian Mariscal was assaulted at a Fresno gas station last week. The incident was caught on surveillance video and shows her fighting off an armed robber. She was able to knock him to the ground but the suspect's accomplices stole her bag with her son's iPad inside.

It was a gift the 11-year-old received from school for being an exceptional student.

A good Samaritan heard about what happened and bought her son a brand new iPad. He wants to remain anonymous, so Action News delivered the tablet for him on Sunday.

The victim is still hoping all of the suspects will be caught, but says she's happy to know there are still kind people out there.
