Grass fire burns off Highway 99 in Downtown Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Firefighters put out a fire in Downtown Fresno on Saturday afternoon. The flames were burning near the Highway 99 and Highway 180 interchange around 1 p.m.

ABC30 Insider Rose Mary Nunez shared photos of the intense flames and black smoke billowing into the sky.

Drivers encountered some delays as crews finished mopping up the scene. There is no word yet on the cause of the fire.
