FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno police are investigating a shooting that also caused a car crash.

It happened around 11 a.m. Sunday near Thorne and Myers avenues in Southwest Fresno. Officers say a 30-year-old driver slammed into a street light after someone started firing at his SUV. An 11-year-old boy was also in the vehicle.

The driver left the area out of fear for their safety, and authorities found the SUV at a home nearby. They confirmed a bullet was lodged in the right rear door, but no one was injured. Police believe the shooting was gang-related.

A public works crew was called out to work on repairing the damaged street light.
