Man arrested in Central Fresno Subway restaurant robbery

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno police arrested an armed robbery suspect on Saturday. Jonathan Alexander is accused of trying to hold up the Subway restaurant on Blackstone Avenue near Dakota Avenue in Central Fresno just after 6 p.m.

Witnesses gave a specific description of the suspect, and a Skywatch helicopter crew spotted him from the air. Officers on the ground then moved in and made the arrest.

Alexander was booked into jail for armed robbery and an outstanding felony vandalism case.
