A county worker called deputies to report suspicious activity. When investigators arrived they found the body in the backseat.
Authorities say the car was reported stolen early last week, and does not belong to the victim. "The car did come back stolen so we have some information there, and it was out of the Porterville area. But again if anyone has any information in this case that can help us out please give us a call," said Lt. Chris Douglass, Tulare County Sheriff's Department.
Deputies are not saying how the victim was killed, but they say he had visible trauma when he was found.
We'll have more information when it becomes available.
