Man hit in the back by gunfire in Southwest Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Authorities are investigating a shooting that injured a 19-year-old man in Southwest Fresno. It happened near Tulare Street and Mayor Avenue around 3 p.m. Sunday.

Fresno police believe two people were shooting at each other when the victim was hit in the back, but it's not clear if he was one of the gunmen. Witnesses spotted several vehicles speeding away from the scene. There's no word yet on possible suspects or a motive.
