According to Fresno Police, A man was killed after an Amtrak train struck him at Belmont and Diana in Central Fresno.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- According to Fresno Police, a man was killed after an Amtrak train struck him at Belmont and Diana in Central Fresno.

The man is believed to be 47-years-old and was described as wearing a hospital gown with a hospital bracelet on his wrist. Police said it indicates he may have recently been released from the hospital.

Authorities said he was taken to Community Regional Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.

The train was on its way to Oakland and has since been released from the scene.

The conductor said he sounded his horn multiple times but the man did not react.
