SAN FRANCISCO. -- San Francisco police say they have arrested a man who was squatting in a mansion that was for sale and who allegedly stole and sold several paintings valued at more than $300,000.
The San Francisco Chronicle reported Monday that officers found 39-year-old Jeremiah Kaylor of Dragoon, Arizona, at the home in the ritzy Pacific Heights neighborhood after receiving reports of a suspicious person.
Officer Carlos Manfredi says Kaylor told police he was in the process of buying the home but the listing real estate agents told investigators he was the only person with keys to the place and that Kaylor was trespassing. He also reported 11 missing paintings from the home.
When officers returned to the home Sunday they found Kaylor had a painting next to a moving van.
He was arrested and booked on suspicion of burglary and 10 counts of burglary. null
