Masked robbers steal cash register from Southwest Fresno market

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Authorities are looking for two suspects following an armed robbery at a Fresno market. It happened at the Evergreen Market at North and Elm avenues in Southwest Fresno on Monday night.

Investigators say two men walked into the store wearing masks and took off with the cash register. Witnesses say one suspect appeared to have a weapon.

Police say in these cases it's never a good idea to fight with criminals. "It's always better to comply. You don't know the assailant, you don't know what their mental status is, drug usage, drug history and things of that nature," said Peter Boyer of the Fresno Police Department.

Police are now looking at surveillance video to try and identify the suspects.
