Merced's first homicide of 2015 investigated

MERCED, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Merced Police Department is investigating the city's first homicide of 2015.

Police were called to an apartment complex near 12th and T streets around 11 p.m. Thursday. When officers arrived, they found a 52-year-old man lying on a sidewalk with a gunshot wound. The victim died at the scene. He has not been identified.

So far, no arrests have been made, but a SWAT team did search a nearby apartment as part of the investigation. Several people inside were detained for questioning.
