Mother, infant found dead in Los Angeles apartment

LOS ANGELES -- Detectives in Los Angeles are investigating the deaths of a mother and her infant inside an apartment where a 2-year-old child was found alive.

Police Officer Liliana Preciado says officers were summoned to the apartment in Hollywood Monday afternoon when someone who heard a child's cry called 911.

There, they found the bodies of a woman and approximately 1-year-old child. The toddler, who appeared to be in good health, was taken to a hospital for dehydration.

Preciado said investigators were looking into the circumstances surrounding the deaths. She said they have no evidence of foul play.

Medical examiners were trying to determine the cause of deaths.
