Motorcycle officer seriously injured after being hit by car in Downtown Fresno
A motorcycle officer is recovering after he was hit by a car in Downtown Fresno Wednesday afternoon.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A motorcycle officer is recovering after he was hit by a car in Downtown Fresno Wednesday afternoon. The accident happened after four on Tulare and U streets.

Fresno Police said the driver of a white car was driving in the middle lane heading westbound when she decided at the last minute to turn left to get on the 41 south on ramp. The motorcycle officer, who was driving eastbound, then collided with the car.

The officer complained of injuries to his shoulder but he is expected to recover.

The woman behind the wheel was found at fault for a right of way violation. She had her 20-year-old daughter and a toddler in the car with her-- neither of them were injured.
